European Super League
Any soccer fans here? I can't believe that the European Super League was three years in the making, but apparently, it was. Here's what I have so far:
- ESL will be made up of the dirty dozen- 12 soccer clubs, plus a few more(?)
- Clubs want permanent slots in the Champions League each year
I mean, I know Arsenal has not qualifies for a Champions' League spot in more than 3 decades but I did not think they were that desperate. Anyway, after it was released to the public, chaos ensued. People in Europe actually protested on the streets, accusing the football clubs to be focused on getting more fame, power, and money. British PM Boris Johnson even states the possibility of pushing legislation to prevent this from happening. Now, all those years of preparations are gone, as in less than 3 days, clubs have now stepped away due to the horrible backlash of the clubs. This is going to be a bad year for them.
