2022 Afc Championship Game

The KC Chiefs may have their Hands Full in AFC Championship Game

By Charles Jay

Hey, why don't we take a look at some of the great props that are available for the AFC Championship game between the Cincinnati Bengals and KC Chiefs? Remember that the kickoff is at 3:05 p.m. Eastern time at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. And BetAnySports customers can place wagers through Prop Builder on all these games.

AFC Championship Game Props -- Rushing Yards: Joe Mixon

Over 55.5 yards - 114
Under 55.5 yards - 114

We know that it's going to depend a lot on how the script for this game is written, but it would make sense for the Bengals if they can do something substantial on the ground. Keep very much in mind that Joe Burrow was sacked nine times against Tennessee in the divisional round. And the Chiefs are certainly going to bring some pressure on him.

But remember something else; Kansas City has not been a real good team defending the run, allowing 4.7 yards-per-carry. We know that the secondary is going to have to deal with Ja'Marr Chase, who had 266 yards against them in the first meeting, and then there are others like Tee Higgins to deal with. So the question might be whether they are going to have their safeties playing deep enough to where they are not going to be available for much run support.

We think the attitude on the part of the Bengals will be to indeed get Mixon established, so we would go with an OVER on this prop.

AFC Championship Game Props -- Tyler Boyd to score a touchdown + 225

If there is a receiver in the Cincinnati lineup but could get lost in the shuffle as far as Kansas City's coverage schemes are concerned, it's Boyd, because there are most certainly other people the Chiefs are going to have to account for. Boyd may not be tremendously productive in this game from the standpoint of total yards, but we know that one thing in his favor is that Burrow does not have a strong tendency toward anyone once his team gets to the red zone. These two do not misfire that often, as Boyd has caught 71.3% of the passes thrown his way. And in four of his last five games, he has scored a touchdown.

AFC Championship Game Props -- Byron Pringle: Receiving Yards

Over 38.5 yards - 114
Under 38.5 yards - 114

The Chiefs have a lot of receivers; that much has been established. But we know that Pringle is going to get playing time. He played 76% of the snaps against Buffalo, and he may wind up being the second wide receiver option behind Tyreek Hill in this one. In the first meeting he had three catches for 35 yards, and we think he can do better. So it's an OVER for us.

AFC Championship Game Props -- Ja'Marr Chase: Receiving Yards

Over 86.5 yards - 125
Under 86.5 yards - 103

Chase is the kind of receiver that presents problems for anybody, but no matter what Kansas City did the first time around, they couldn't do anything to solve him. There was one big play after another, and he wound up catching eleven balls thrown his way for 266 yards and three touchdowns. For the regular season, Chase had 1455 yards, as it proved to be very prudent for the Bengals to draft him in the first round, although their offensive line suffered as a result.

Chase also has eight touchdowns on passes that are thrown 20 or more yards beyond the line of scrimmage. So he's not just one of those guys who is dangerous when his team gets into the red zone. In four weeks (since the first meeting), do you think Kansas City has somehow devised a defensive strategy to shut him down? We'll go OVER with this one.
