Dodgers Ryu Looks to Find a Rhythm
The Los Angeles Dodgers battle the San Francisco Giants at Dodger Stadium. They will be looking for the clean sweep of the struggling Giants. The Dodgers are showing every week why they are the class of the National League West.
Starting this game for the Dodgers will be Hyun-Jin Ryu. The left hander has a 4.17 ERA to go along with a 3-6 record this season. Ryu is still battling to come back from surgery that cost him two seasons. He also had a toe injury this season. He has a 4-5 record and 3.79 ERA in 10 starts against the Giants.
Bumgarner Looks for Return to Normal
The Giants will trot Madison Bumgarner out to the mound in this one. Left hander Bumgarner has a 1-4 record and a 3.38 ERA this season. The Giants were headed toward the top of the division back in April when Bumgarner suffered an injury riding a dirt bike. The team missed him in the rotation as well as his often-menacing presence as a clubhouse leader. He is back and the Giants are 25-games below .500.
Bumgarner is 101-71 in his career. He pitched well in his four April starts before the injury. Bumgarner posted a 3.00 ERA, but the Giants lost all four games. He has been so-so in three starts since returning to the rotation. He earned his first win in just five innings against Pittsburgh. Bumgarner has been money against the Dodgers in his career. His record is 14-9 record and 2.70 ERA in 27 games.
Oddsmakers opened the Dodgers as -290-moneyline favorites versus the Giants, while the game’s total opened at 9.5.
The Dodgers were a 2-1 winners yesterday against the Giants. That made winners of bettors who got Los Angeles at -306 on the moneyline, while the total score (3) was good news for UNDER bettors.
