King Felix Back From DL for Mariners
The Houston Astros and the Seattle Mariners will meet at Safeco Field on Friday night. Both teams are hot as a pistol with the Mariners winning five straight games and the Astros have been winners in four straight. Seattle is looking to cut into the Astros’ 12.5 game lead in the division over them this weekend.
The Astros will trot Joe Musgrove out to the mound in this one. Right hander Musgrove has a 4-6 record and a 5.09 ERA this season. Musgrove has made two career starts against the Mariners. Both of them came this season. He had a no-decision April 6 at Houston. He allowed two runs on five hits in five innings of a 4-2 loss. Musgrove got the win April 11 at Seattle. He gave up three runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings of a 7-5 victory.
Felix Hernandez will pitch for Seattle. The Mariners right hander has a 4.73 ERA to go along with a 2-2 record this season. The “Kings Court” will be back in session for the first time since April 26th. King Felix went on the DL with Bursitis is his right shoulder. Hernandez, the Mariners’ career leader in wins (156), innings (2,442 1/3), strikeouts (2,286) and starts (364), has won both his appearances at home this season.
Total Has Been Moving All Day
Oddsmakers opened the Mariners as -118-moneyline favorites versus the Astros, while the game’s total opened at 8.5. The moneyline has dropped slowly today, as they Mariners are now -114-monyline favorites. The total has been hammered up to 9.5.
