Yankees Offense Thrives at Home in ALCS so Far
The Houston Astros and the New York Yankees will play Game 3 of their ALCS Series on Tuesday when they battle at Yankee Stadium. TBS will televise the game. First pitch is schedules for 5:08 pm EST.
Oddsmakers have the Yankees as -140-moneyline favorites. The total is at 8.5.
Yankee Stadium is proving to be fertile ground for the Yankees during the post-season. The Bronx dominance helped the Yankees rally from a 2-0 deficit in the ALDS against the Cleveland Indians. The Yankees hope it helps them stage another comeback against the Astros in the ALCS.
New York will try to remain unbeaten at home in the postseason and even the ALCS today against the Astros.
New York posted a league-leading 51-30 record at home during the regular season. The Yankees have scored 24 times in four home post-season games. This is despite hitting .232 in those games. They produced 14 of those runs on eight homers. Todd Frazier and Aaron Judge slugged three-run shots in an 8-1 win Monday.
Sonny Gray takes the hill for the Yankees on Tuesday. The Yankees right hander has a 3.64 ERA to go along with a 10-13 record this season.
Astros Looking to get Offense on Track in the ALCS
Lance McCullers Jr. will be the starting pitcher for the Astros on this day. Right hander McCullers Jr. is 7-4 this season with a 4.29 ERA. His ERA rose due to some late-season struggles that saw him go 0-3 with an 8.63 ERA in his final eight starts.
McCullers was very good against the Yankees in New York on May 12. He struck out seven and allowed four hits. McCullers threw six scoreless innings in a 5-1 win. He allowed three runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings during a 13-4 home loss to the Yankees on June 30.
McCullers is 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA in three career outings against New York.
Houston will try to get its offense off the snide. The Astros have only scored five times and are hitting .169 in the series. Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa are a combined 9-for-23, while the rest of the team is 6-for-66. George Springer is 1-for-11 with four strikeouts and Josh Reddick is 0-for-10.
